My Story - Donna Teague

In 2018, while doing a self-breast exam I noticed a lump at the base of my breast. So, I consulted my doctor, had a mammogram, sonogram, biopsy. After consulting with my primary doctor and the doctor at Moffitt, I chose to have a partial mastectomy and a reduction. Once the wounds were healed, I then moved forward with chemotherapy and then radiation. After the eight months after the surgery, recovery, treatment, hair loss, and life in general, I was able to ring the bell that I was cancer free.

Fortunately for me, I already knew the possible outcome of the surgery and other treatments. I knew that scarring and imbalance could be an issue. That skin does not always heal as we expect, and things do not always go the way we want.

In seeing so many women struggle to find bras that fit properly, I decided to open my own bra business in memory of my mother, Dixie Carter, and share my experience and knowledge that she taught me at Pennyrich Bra Shop in the 35 years that she served people that have experienced what I have gone through and now I can help other who are going through similar circumstances now.

My goal is to share joy and hope in tomorrow, and to help women feel comfortable in their own skin again. Breasts are nurturing and comforting but they do not determine who we are as women...
